Aggregation within the PCG

As with any comparison from one reckoning system to another, discrepancies can occur, and this is no different with the Annalect Programmatic Composition Graph.

There are Two main reasons a discrepancy can occur between DSP reporting and PCG Analysis:

  1. 100% of Campaign Activities are not analysed in PCG  – Line Items with no data targeting are out of scope.
  2. Due to how the programmatic graph aggregates data the percentages displayed may differ from that of the DSP when reported against in specific splits both for Impressions and Share of Data Spend in %.

This is since in the Programmatic Composition Graph we separate an impression across the segmentation applied to have a one-to-one comparison.

In a DSP when multiple segments are in use the combination of data partners is recorded against the impression.

Aggregation with Spend
Aggregation with Impressions

Within the PCG we aim to attribute the impression across the relevant segments so we are not restricted to reporting on combinations of segments utilised and can further hone our Performance Index. Due to this separation when reported against Impressions and share of impressions as a % can differ, this is also then same case when we look at the data costs.
